| JIM BROTHERTON President
On March 18th 1991, I started Associated Component Sales by selling just about everything I owned, including my home. It was humbling to have to ask my mom and dad if I could move back in with them at the age of 33, along with my family, just to keep expenses down. I admit it never got so bad that I had to heat my lunch up on the radiator of my car, as is purported by one of my competitors, however my monthly revenues when I started the business were $1500.00 and I gave my parents $500.00 a month for room and board. The balance went to travel expenses, hotels, gas, meals, entertainment and the purchase of a 1987 Buick Century, in which I drove 98,000 miles in two years calling on anyone who would listen to me. During this time, my father gave me a plaque. The writing on the plaque read "Not Slothful in business - Serving the Lord." Today, Associated Component Sales is a driven, state-of-the-art manufacturers' representative agency, solving problems and communicating solutions through a hard working sales staff, newsletters, e-mail campaigns, website and video conferencing. We're honored to represent our industry's best component suppliers and we're honored by the loyalty of our industry's best customers. Thank You!
